Play StarCraft II in Hanover in March
Posted 20th Feb 2009 04:11 PM by Leord

If you happen to be in Hanover around 3rd to 8th of March this year, you can have a sneak preview of StarCraft 2 at CeBIT! You can read the whole press release after the break (thanks IDG), but we would primarily want to remind you that you can help fellow fans!

If you go to CeBIT this year, please bring a notepad to the SC booths, and take note of your impressions of the game. How you feel it plays and any details whatsoever. Just don't redo my mistake from the March 2008 Zerg Reveal, and spend hours writing down stats. Aim for the important thing, which is playing lots of different units and take notes (or just mental notes) of what impression they gave you. Was the Thor really that cumbersome, or was the Colossus really that weak? Then contact me (leordATincgamersDOTcom, or PM me in the forums) afterwards, so you can enlighten the poor SC-fans that have not yet had the opportunity to play.

Don't be selfish, go to Hanover and play StarCraft 2! It's not every day you can say something like that!

If you are interested in the pretty boring business details, check more info after the break. Also, the link to CeBIT is dead, and it's not our fault, blame Intel.

Making IT Happen: Intel CeBIT Highlights 2009

Feldkirchen, 5 February, 2009 – At CeBIT 2009 (Hanover, 3-8 March) Intel is showcasing live technology from various walks of life in two different exhibiting areas, true to the motto "Making IT Happen". In pavilion P33 the company primarily addresses business clients and exhibits its current 45nm product range. The highlight is the Intel® Core™ i7 processor - the fastest Intel processor on the planet**. Alongside other prestigious exhibitors, Intel provides advanced solutions based on current microprocessor technology. The range covers mobile devices such as notebooks, netbooks and MIDs, through to desktop computers and the latest generation of servers.
Moreover, Intel will be transforming Hall 22 into a hub for gaming fans with the final of the Intel® Extreme Masters taking place at CeBIT.
The start of the trade fair is set to be another highlight in Intel's schedule this year: Craig R. Barrett, Intel Chairman of the Board, will be opening CeBIT 2009 along with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Innovative business solutions with prestigious partners

In pavilion P33, alongside the leading industry partners Dell, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, IBM, Panasonic and Samsung as well as a range of channel partners, Intel will be presenting solutions for business partners. In the spotlight are applications for notebooks, desktops and servers based on new Intel® Core™ microarchitecture. In addition, together with Adobe, Intel will also be demonstrating image and video editing applications on the Intel® Core™ i7 processor.

CeBIT visitors are able to experience production-ready car infotainment with innovative 3D navigation, Internet connection and speech recognition based on Intel technology, presented in a sample BMW X5 by Intel and Harman Becker outside pavilion P33. Inside the pavilion, the automotive software company OpenSynergy, will be unveiling an Intel-based head unit with Autosar[1] and infotainment applications.

Increased energy efficiency and productivity for knowledge workers
In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Labour Economics and Organisation in Stuttgart Intel works in the OFFICE21® project team to develop and enhance the workplace of the future. In a designated "Energy Efficiency & Work Performance Area" within Pavilion P33 Intel offers visitors detailed insights into the research work. For example the showcase includes an ergonomic workstation with multi-display settings (multiple screens) that can help increase productivity for information and knowledge workers. Visitors will also be able to see first hand which specific energy-efficient hardware and software components can be incorporated into an office workstation.

Intel Hall 22: THE place for gamers
In an area of approximately 5000 square meters - including a free gaming area and an ASUS overclocking station - computer gamers will find their paradise in gaming Hall 22. As one of many highlights gamers get the opportunity to experience Blizzard’s current blockbuster, StarCraft II. From Tuesday the 3rd to Sunday the 8th of March, Hall 22 will host to the finals of the Intel® Extreme Masters a worldwide gaming competition. Supported by Dell and Alienware, and with prize money totaling USD 750,000, the competition is the highest remunerated online league for professional computer games. In addition, on Saturday afternoon the winner of the Intel® Centrino® Modding Competition (ICMC) will be honored. The ICMC is a creative contest to customize notebook cases.

Further information and details about all Intel events at CeBIT can be found at http://www.intel.de/CeBIT from late February.

Pues que al final no estuvo presente Blizzard al final, por lo que no hubo testeo, ni reportes ni nada
